MAS extends ‘Chef-on-Call’ service to business class passengers
PETALING JAYA: Travellers flying with Malaysia Airlines will be able to enjoy Malaysian culinary dishes with the extension of its “Chef-on-Call” service to business class passengers.
The dishes are not only offered for flights from Malaysia but also from selected cities such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Auckland.
The menu includes nasi lemak, assam pedas fish, beef kurma, chicken curry kapitan, stir-fried chicken, wok-fried egg noodles, ayam kechap, mutton curry and stir-fried egg noodles with seared prawns.
MAS customer services director Datuk Salleh Ahmad Tabrani said the service was originally available to Enrich Platinum members travelling in first and business classes in 2006.
“We then extended the service to first class passengers on the Kuala Lumpur-London and Kuala Lumpur-Sydney routes in 2011,” he said.
Salleh added that this was yet another enhancement to make MAS services competitive and attractive.
“The Chef-on-Call menu for both our first and business classes is revised every two months to ensure our guests have a variety of meal selections,” he said.
Passengers wishing to book meals will be notified by MAS through e-mail 72 hours in advance and can do so at its website or contact its call centre 24 hours before departure.
