Home Ministry lifts ban on Vishwaroopam

PUTRAJAYA: The Home Ministry has lifted the ban on controversial movie Vishwaroopam effective Tuesday.

It was reported that the Film Censorship Board had initially approved the movie for public screening in Malaysia and the movie was shown in local cinemas on Jan 24.

The approval, however, was withdrawn the next day in accordance with a directive from the Home Ministry following concerns that the film portrayed Islam in a negative light.
