PETALING JAYA: Student activist K.S. Bawani has joined the Pakatan Rakyat ceramah trail ahead of the general election.

Bawani said she had been invited to give speeches in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak and Kelantan.

Banners bearing her picture with those of other Pakatan leaders have been put up in Selangor.

“We are hoping to expand the campaign to other states,” she said.

Denying that political parties were using the Movement Demanding for Free Education (GMPP) that was led by her, Bawani said GMPP had no qualms using any platform to propagate its agenda for free education.

“Yes, we have received invitations from Pakatan Rakyat to give ceramah,” she said yesterday. “What's wrong with that? We are even willing to accept invitations from Barisan Nasional if they, too, believe that education should be free.”

Bawani, a Universiti Utara Malay-sia law student, shot to fame after the infamous “listen, listen, listen” video went viral recently.
