Seeing red over the greens

GUA MUSANG: What used to be lush forests in Kelantan's Lojing Highlands have largely been stripped and turned into thousands of hectares of vegetable farms.
Appallingly, the clearing of new tracts of land is still going on unabated in hills located next to Pahang's Cameron Highlands border.
The natural greenery in both areas are montane forests, found between heights of 1,000 and 2,300 metres.
Based on the location of signboards, some of the farms and cleared areas appear to be within the boundaries of permanent forest reserves, such as Hutan Simpan Kekal (HSK) Lojing and HSK Sg Berok.
