Hisham to meet Vishwaroopam distributor

KLUANG: The Home Ministry will be holding a meeting with Lotus Five Star, distributor of Tamil film Vishwaroopam which was removed from local screens.

Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said that there was no need for certain parties to become upset as the matter was still being discussed.

“The meeting should take place sometime next week and we need time to review and find a proper solution to the matter.

“The owner of the distribution company is a close friend of mine and I have no doubts that we will be able to come up with an amicable solution to the problem,” he said.

He was speaking during a press conference after attending a Maulidur Rasul function organised by the Sembrong parliament at Felda Ulu Belitong here on Saturday.

It was reported that the Film Censorship Board had initially approved Vishwaroopam and Lotus Fivestar AV started screening the movie on Jan 24.

The approval, however, was withdrawn the next day following a Home Ministry directive.
