Man killed in Egypt presidential palace clashes


CAIRO: An Egyptian man was shot dead in clashes outside the presidential palace on Friday, where stone and petrol bomb throwing protesters faced off with police into the night, a senior medic said.

The man, 23-year-old Mohammed Hussein Qarni, died of a gunshot wound near the palace, Ahmed al-Ansari, the deputy head of Egypt's medic authority, told AFP, adding 53 people had been wounded in the fighting. - AFP
