Actor Fizz Fairuz calls off engagement after one week because ex-fiancee was already married
ACTOR Fizz Fairuz has called off his one-week engagement after learning that his former fiancee was already married to a businessman.
“I was shocked to find out that she was someone else's wife,” Harian Metro quoted him as saying.
The engagement ceremony between the actor and the 26-year-old from Kuantan on Feb 10 had shocked many as he had been with actress Almy Nadia, 27, for almost seven years.
“I may have been charmed by her,” he said, adding that the woman was the second wife of a 40-year-old businessman and they got married in Southern Thailand a few years ago.
“Last Thursday, a friend of my former fiancee's sister forwarded a message about her status.
“I also met with her husband on Saturday, who confirmed their relationship, and we decided to end it,” said Fizz, who acted in the movie Nur Kasih.
He said they met on location during filming last year and became close as they had mutual friends.
“However, I did not know her background, where she works, or any of her family members.
“I only met her family during the engagement ceremony,” he said.
He also apologised to Almy Nadia for rushing into the engagement and hurting her feelings.
