KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a decomposed man had been found inside a bathroom at a condominium unit with a teddy bear near him.

Police have yet to determine if the placement of the toy had any significance to the case.

“The man, believed to be in his mid-20s, was covered in a black plastic bag from his head to the hip. There was another layer of black cloth on top and a rope around it,” City deputy CID chief Asst Comm Khairi Ahrasa said.

Two pillows were placed over his head.

He said the body was discovered beside a toilet bowl in the bathroom of the master bedroom.

On the toilet bowl, police found a pink teddy bear, he added.

ACP Khairi said police received a complaint yesterday about a foul smell emanating from the unit located on the 23rd floor of the Pearl Point Condominium.

“We had to cut through the lock and grille to gain access into the unit,” he said.

Initial inspection of the body suggests that the yet-to-be identified victim had been dead for at least four days.

ACP Khairi said police also recovered a substantial amount of drugs believed to be Eramin 5 and syabu in the kitchen together with several apparatus that might have been used to manufacture the drugs in the condominium unit.

Meanwhile, a woman who claimed to be the wife of the victim said her husband who lived with her in Setapak, Sentul had been missing for the past one week.

Police have sent the body to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.

The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
