Govt allocates RM15mil for school repairs and recreational facilities

PENSIANGAN: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also Education Minister, announced a RM10mil allocation for school repairs in the Pensiangan district.

"The Barisan Nasional Government is always concerned about the welfare of rural students. We'll make efforts to improve any weaknesses.

"I understand there are many schools in this district, some in good condition and some in need of repairs.

"We will not neglect such schools, " he said at a gathering with the people in Nabawan, here on Saturday.

Muhyiddin also announced a RM5mil allocation for the construction of a sports and recreation centre in the district.

Expressing his hope for continuous support for the Barisan Government, he added that among the programmes, which would be carried out, if the party received a mandate from the people, would be the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M).

"Without the Barisan Government, there would be no BR1M. It would be like rejecting a windfall," he said.

He advised the people to just support Barisan regardless of who was contesting at the upcoming 13th general election, saying all of them were winnable candidates capable of serving the community. - Bernama
