Andy Lau serenades Vincent Tan on his birthday

Special guests: Tan (left) introducing Lau to Sultan Sharafuddin at Berjaya Times Square. KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Corp's founder Tan Sri Vincent Tan was serenaded by none other than Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau on his 61st birthday.
Also present at the Founder's Day celebration held in Berjaya Times Square yesterday were Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Sultanah Kalsom of Pahang and the Sultan of Johor's consort Raja Zarith Sofia.
Lau, a close friend of the Tan family, in his speech said that although he had known about Tan's philanthropic efforts, he was still surprised by the scale of it.
“I know that he is very hardworking and very successful in business.
“What I didn't know was the extent of his charitable deeds and it has really inspired me,” said Lau.
He had the audience in stitches when he said: “I also have an Andy Lau Foundation back in Hong Kong and I know it's a bit too late to submit my application so what I have here is my application for next year.”
He then pulled an envelope out of his coat pocket before walking down the stage to present his “application” to Tan, much to the amusement of those present.
Tan donated a total of RM20.2mil to 74 charitable organisations from various fields in conjunction with his birthday.
