Huge turnout at BN job carnival

KUALA TERENGGANU: About 6,000 people thronged a job carnival organised by Barisan National Youth here.

With over 4,000 jobs on offer, nearly 80% of the vacancies were filled up throughout Friday and yesterday, said Terengganu Barisan Youth chief Saiful Bahri Baharudin.

“The response to the job carnival has been very encouraging. With this success, we are hoping to organise the carnival again in future. We are also considering organising it in every district in Terengganu,” he said after the launch of the carnival by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak yesterday.

Saiful Bahri said the job fair was a hit particularly among fresh graduates and school-leavers.

The jobs on offer were from sectors such as telecommunications, manufacturing, oil and gas, and tourism.

Saiful Bahri said 80% of the job postings were located in Terengganu.

The job fair was held at Dataran Syahbandar in conjunction with Barisan’s Jelajah Janji Ditepati carnival.
