Pekan folk get special session with own MP
PUTRAJAYA: Pekan folk are invited to a special session with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at Seri Perdana this Saturday.
The event at 3pm is aimed at strengthening ties among Pekan folk and to give them an opportunity to meet Najib, who is also Pekan MP.
“We have targeted 5,000 people for the programme,” Kelab Anak Wawasan Pekan Pahang (Kawan) president Mohd Rosdi Alizah said at a press conference here yesterday.
Among the activities planned are a para-gliding demonstration and performances by local artistes like Mas Idayu and Jimmy Palikat.
Najib is also slated to launch a Moh Balik Ngundi Weh campaign to encourage Pekan folk to return home to vote in the general election.
“Najib will also launch an education grant scheme – Selangkah ke Menara Gading,” said Mohd Rosdi.
