Man held for sodomising teens
KUALA LUMPUR: For months, a man has been luring four young boys over a social website, winning their trust by showering them with expensive gifts of cash and electronic gadgets before inviting them to “meetings” at budget hotels.
Last Friday, the man, a manager at a government-link company, was finally nabbed by the police.
He is accused of sodomising the boys multiple times over the months.
The suspect is believed to have been preying on the boys, who are secondary students in the same school, since May last year.
It is learnt that his activities finally came to light after one of the boys confessed to a teacher, who then informed his parents on Feb 8.
A police report was subsequently lodged.
After two weeks of surveillance, police swooped in and detained the suspect, who is in his 40s, in Lumut, Perak, on Feb 22.
City police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohmad Salleh said the four boys, aged between 13 and 15, knew the suspect as “Abang Civic”.
His nickname came about as the suspect is believed to be driving a Honda Civic.
“Initial investigations revealed that the first boy was sodomised in May last year at a budget hotel in Brickfields. We believe that he was sodomised several times over the course of a few months. We also believe that the boy introduced his three other friends to the man via the social website,” he said yesterday.
The police, said DCP Mohmad, were not ruling out the possibility that the man could have victimised more boys.
“We urge other students who have been victims of this man to come forward,” he said, adding that the case had been classified under Section 377B of the Penal Code.
