KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry is promoting the number "3665" as the way to eating healthy and in moderation this Chinese New Year.

The number denotes three servings of vegetables, six servings of cereal, a 60g limit on fat and five grams or less salt daily.

One serving of vegetables is also equivalent to half cup or four dessert spoons of dark leafy vegetables (cooked) while one serving of cereal is equivalent to two scoops of rice or two slices of bread.

Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the "3665" method should be practised daily.

"All Malaysians should eat healthily," he said here Monday when launching the Healthy Eating - Recipes for Healthy Living booklet for Chinese New Year.
