CM trying to disrupt BN’s CNY open house, says Muhyiddin

Lim Guan Eng had urged the public to attend the event clad only in red, green or yellow.
“He is being disrespectful to the rights of others to celebrate Chinese New Year (by making such a call).
“This is a function to celebrate Gong Xi Fa Cai in the spirit of happiness and unity.
“Lim is all about politics as a state leader, he must respect the rights of others to hold such events,” said Muhyiddin.
He said Barisan would never ask people to wear black or blue to a DAP function.
He said if Lim was really sincere in urging people to attend the event, the DAP secretary-general would not encourage acts that could disrupt the celebration.
“He (Lim) looks smart but this (the call to wear certain colours) is silly,” he said, adding that Psy's performance at the Feb 11 event would be sponsored.
Muhyiddin said the state government's competency, accountability and transparency (CAT) values were meaningless.
“If you think everything is your right, reporters cannot write, and even the name Penang' you want to monopolise, CAT is meaningless,” he said.
Muhyiddin was speaking at a press conference after meeting Barisan grassroots leaders and voting district centre heads in Bukit Jambul yesterday.
He was earlier briefed on the preparedness of Barisan's general election machinery in Penang.
He said Barisan had regained its strength in the state and the election machinery in every district was ready.
He added that the coalition was getting back the support it lost in a few parliamentary seats.
“We lost (in 2008) not because Pakatan Rakyat was strong but because there were internal issues which we failed to solve.
“Support for Barisan is clearer now.
“Regaining Penang is not impossible but it's not easy either we don't want to be arrogant.
“There are many unresolved issues in Penang, including affordable housing,” he said.
