No new leads in search for missing teenager

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have stepped the search for M. Jethendran, 16, who has been reported missing since Jan 25 after not returning home from a gym in Taman Desa, Jalan Klang Lama.

Kuala Lumpur CID (Operations and Intelligence) deputy chief ACP Khairy Ahrasa said so far they have not obtained any concrete leads and appealed to the public for any relevant information.

"A witness claimed to have seen the victim chatting with a woman near the gym, but it's difficult to gauge if it is accurate or not. The case has been classified as 'missing person'," he said at a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur contingent headquarters here Wednesday.

Jethendran was said to have last contacted his mother at 3.45pm on the day he went missing, to say he would take a taxi home.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call the nearest police station or Brickfields headquarters at 03-90571086.
