Pahang PAS members, supporters hold protest against DAP sec-gen Lim

MARAN: Several members and supporters of Pahang PAS held a peaceful demonstration Wednesday to protest the call by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng for the federal government to allow the use of the word "Allah" in the Malay version of the Bible.

They gathered in front of the As-Syakirin Mosque in Maran at about 5.30pm and burned a poster of Lim, who is the Penang chief minister.

A representative of the demonstrators, Muhammad Rolbani Ibrahim of the Jerantut PAS branch, urged the PAS leadership not to be afraid of the DAP.

The demonstrators dispersed 30 minutes later on the prompting of the police. - Bernama
