Trainee pilot survives plane crash in Malacca

MALACCA: A light aircraft piloted by a 20-year-old trainee pilot crash landed in front of an apartment block at Cheng Heights, near the Pulau Gadong traffic junction here.

P.Derenessroo, who was alone, escaped unhurt in the 11.56am incident, Thursday.

Derenessroo who was piloting a Piper 28, had earlier radioed the Batu Berendam Airport air traffic controller stating that he had encountered engine trouble.

Shortly after sending the report, the plane crashed.
