By MAIZATUL NAZLINA
KUALA LUMPUR: The Sessions Court here will hear next month an application by National Feedlot Corporation Sdn Bhd (NFCorp) executive chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Salleh Ismail to strike out two criminal breach of trust charges against him.
Sessions Judge S. M. Komathy Suppiah fixed March 11 to hear the matter after meeting deputy public prosecutor Nor Azimul Azami Mohamad Nor and lead counsel Datuk Seri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah who appeared for Dr Mohamad Salleh in chambers.
She also fixed Feb 13 for Dr Mohamad Salleh to file his application to enable him obtain his passport as he would perform the umrah on March 10.
Nor Azimul told reporters that the judge had set March 11 to hear on Dr Mohamad Salleh's affidavit to strike out the two criminal breaches of trust charges against him.
"The defence had applied to strike out the two charges on grounds that the charges were defective and have no elements of criminal breach of trust,” he said Friday.
On Jan 7, the defence had applied to strike out the two criminal breaches of trust charges against Dr Mohamad Salleh.
On March 12, 2012, Dr Mohamad Salleh claimed trial to dishonestly misusing funds amounting to RM9,758,140 through four cheques to partly finance the purchase of two units of One Menerung Condominium in Block B here, for the National Meat and Livestock Corporation Sdn Bhd, which he owns with one of his sons.
