SEREMBAN: Two friends, suspected of robbing two shops in Port Dickson within minutes of one another, were killed when their motorcycle crashed into a divider while they were trying to escape a police team Saturday.

The police had sent out an all-points bulletin after Mohd Hakim Amiruddin, 27, and Nur Asraf Shamsuddin, 21, allegedly robbed a bakery in Teluk Kemang and another outlet in Lukut minutes later.

A police spokesman said the duo were spotted at the Mambau R&R about 12.45pm by police patrol team and ordered to stop.

However, the two suspects rode off and a high-speed chase ensued.

After they passed through the Seremban toll along the Seremban-Port Dickson Highway, the suspects turned left towards the Seremban-Port Dickson trunk road near Mambau.

"The rider lost control of the motorcycle as they were going at very high speed. One of the suspects died on the spot while the other succumbed to his injuries on the way to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital," he said.

Police investigations revealed that the motorcycle registration plates had been falsified.

Police also recovered an iPhone4 and Samsung SII mobile phones, believed to be part of the loot.

The case is being investigated under section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery.
