Maid denies abusing child
KOTA BARU: An Indonesian maid pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court to abusing the 15-month-old daughter of her employer on Saturday.
Enong Nur Sukma, 41, of Bandung, Indonesia, was charged with shaking the body and head of Qaseh Nur Alia Mohd Syazwan and subjecting her to rough treatment in a house at Lorong Haji Pak Noh, Jalan Bayam here, at 10.30 pm.
Enong, who nodded to indicate that she understood the charge, was seen crying during the proceeding yesterday.
Judge Yusuf Yunus set April 1 for mention of the case pending receipt of the medical report.
Enong, who was represented by counsel Roshazlizawati Muhammad, was denied bail.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Intan Noor Hilwani Mat Rifin appeared for the prosecution. — Bernama
