Police rescue kidnap victim within 24-hours

SHAH ALAM: Police managed to rescue a man within 24 hours of his kidnapping at Kampung Jawa, Klang, near here on Wednesday.

Selangor CID chief SAC Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the victim was found safe and sound during a raid of a vacant house at Taman Maznah, Klang.

"The victim's 25-year-old brother lodged a report on his disappearance about 12.06 am on Feb 28.

"He had received a ransom call from a man demanding RM9,000,' he said at a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters on Friday.

"We detained three men and an Indonesian woman, all of them between 22 and 44," he said.

A Toyota Camry car, Yamaha motorbike, three notebooks with lists of debtors and five mobile phones were also seized, said Mohd Adnan.

"We're not discounting the possibility of the suspects having links with loan sharks as they kidnapped the victim claiming his family had failed to settle a loan," he said.

He added that one of the male suspects had eight previous criminal records and all of them have been remanded until March 3. - Bernama
