Lahad Datu: Phase one of security area named ESS Com

KOTA KINABALU: Phase one of the special security area in the Ops Daulat operations against the armed intruders covering the east coast districts from Kudat to Tawau has been named the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESS Com).

Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman said details of ESS Com would be announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Musa told reporters this after chairing the state security working committee meeting pertaining to the armed intrusion here yesterday.

A follow-up meeting would be held tomorrow on the ESS Com, he said.

Meanwhile, Musa said Sabahans had shown their support on the special security area to better monitor the activities and entry of people along the 1,400km coastline.

“This is also our way to honour our fallen heroes and to show the security forces that their sacrifices are appreciated,” he said.

Musa urged the public to donate to a special fund for the policemen killed in Lahad Datu and Kampung Simunul, Semporna, through the state security council office.

The public can contact the office at 088-488 500 or 013-482 1604 and 013-306 0106 to enquire about making donations.
