Malaysia to face Palestine in fund-raising football friendly

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysians have been called on to show their patriotism by turning out in force to watch Malaysia play Palestine in an international football friendly match this Mar 26.
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the game themed Voice of Malaysia, Match for Hope' aims to raise funds for Tabung Wira Negara and the Palestinian struggle to uphold their sovereignty.
"We hope to raise RM1mil, and the plan is to split the money 50-50 between the two funds," he said at a press conference at his office here to announce the upcoming international friendly on Wednesday.
