Student run over by lorry on Penang Bridge
Traffic police carrying the remains of Henry, who died on the spot during an accident on the Penang Bridge. GEORGE TOWN: A mechanical engineering student from the Seberang Perai Polytechnic died after being run over by a lorry at Km5.4km of the Penang Bridge (island-bound) on Thursday.
Penang public order and traffic chief Supt Wan Aziz Wan Husin said in the 3pm incident, Henry Peter, 22, was believed to have failed to control his motorcycle, which caused it to graze into a land rover resulting in him being flung off the machine.
The student who was returning to his home in Bukit Dumbar on the island was then run over by the lorry coming from behind, he told Bernama.
He added that the victim's body was sent to the Penang Hospital. - Bernama
