PM wants Hospital Kuala Lumpur to be user-friendly in all areas
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wants Hospital Kuala Lumpur to be a world-class hospital and user-friendly in every area.
For this reason, he has asked that a multi-level car park be built and completed by Jan 2015.
“We must make this hospital user-friendly in all aspects.
“One of the grouses I often hear is the lack of parking space. I insist that there should be a multi-storey car park here or the situation will remain chaotic,” he said during his visit to the hospital to launch the new Specialist Clinic Ambulatory Care Centre (SCACC) yesterday.
“People are parking haphazardly, and staff have difficulty finding a parking bay. We must resolve this problem in the (development) package to be implemented,” he said.
Najib, who visited the hospital with his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, said he wanted HKL to be turned into a top-notch hospital when he announced a RM300mil allocation under Budget 2012 for it to be upgraded.

There are as many as 10,000 vehicles moving in and out of HKL on each working day while, during weekends, the number is between 6,000 and 8,000 vehicles.
The SCACC is housed in an eight-storey building located on 1.38ha facing Jalan Pahang. It has 16 different disciplines in the specialist clinics and 184 consultation rooms.
The ambulatory care centre component of the SCACC houses 10 operation theatres and a day-care unit.
