Lahad Datu: Felda settlers prepare food daily for security forces
LAHAD DATU: As members of the security forces put their lives on the line to defend the country from the remaining armed terrorists from southern Philippines, a group of Felda Sahabat settlers here has embarked on its very own 'mission'.
About 50 members of four associations linked to the Felda Sahabat Women's Movement Association prepare meals daily, for the security forces involved in 'Ops Daulat" to flush out the terrorists.
Felda Sahabat manager Juany Salleh said, the meals were prepared in appreciation of the sacrifices made by the security forces.
He said a total of 2,000 food packages comprising rice, chicken and vegetables were prepared for members of the security forces daily, since Lahad Datu was attacked by the terrorists.
"Felda Sahabat also provides four multi-purpose halls for free in Embara Budi, Fajar Harapan, Cenderawasih and Gemala Pura here for Felda residents and workers seeking temporary shelter, following the intrusion.
"We will also get permission from the security forces whether it is safe to use several buildings in Felda Sahabat now, such as Islamic religious schools, Felda training centre and a sports complex, in addition to the existing shelter," he told Bernama here on Saturday.
