Man killed by lorry after flinging child out of taxi

A SINGLE father was knocked down by a lorry when he was running away after hitting his three-year-old daughter and flinging her out of a window of the taxi they were travelling in.

He was said to have alighted from the taxi and ran to the other side of the road when an oncoming lorry hit him.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the man's body was ripped in half in the accident in Changzhou, China. The girl suffered injuries to her body and face. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

According to the taxi driver, the man got into his cab with her daughter on Tuesday night and he started hitting her all of a sudden.

“She was not giving any trouble or crying,” he said, adding that before he could stop the taxi, the man had thrown the girl out of the window.

The man got out of the vehicle and continued hitting the girl, he claimed.

Police investigations showed that the man, known as Kan and in his 30s, had a meeting with his former wife before the incident. They were believed to have had a fight.

The foreigners had allegedly touched the woman's hand when she walked past their table at a fast food outlet in Clarke Quay, Singapore, on Saturday.

The woman, who is in her 20s, let out a scream. Two other men, who were unknown to the woman, came forward and started beating up the foreigners, leaving them bloodied.

The attackers left before police arrived.
