Five more held in rape case of American teacher
PETALING JAYA: Police detained three men and two women on Monday in the rape and robbery case of a 24-year-old American teacher.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the suspects were picked up at 6.30am at a house in Kajang.
Eight people have so far been detained in connection with the case.
The teacher had stopped a taxi near a shopping mall to return to her house in Damansara Perdana, around 6pm on Mar 11.
However, the taxi driver stopped a few minutes into the journey and picked up a man. He then made another stop, on the excuse that the car had run out of gas.
Shortly afterwards, a van came by and the teacher was told to go into a van which would take her home.
However, the victim was taken to a house where she was raped by one of the men. .
The van driver helped the victim to escape the next day. She boarded a bus to Sungai Pelek, Sepang and lodged a police report.
