GE13: Anwar - Kit Siang will contest in Gelang Patah

JOHOR BARU: Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that DAP veteran leader Lim Kit Siang (pic) will be the Pakatan Rakyat candidate to contest in the Gelang Patah parliamentary seat in the next general election.
The PKR advisor made the announcement in his speech during the National DAP anniversary celebration at Taman Sutera Utama in Skudai here Monday.
"Yes, there has been some misunderstanding between DAP and PKR about the issue because Gelang Patah is a PKR seat.
"But after thorough discussions between the coalition parties, we have come to a win-win situation.
"It does not matter whether DAP or PKR holds the seat. What is important is that Pakatan wins," he said.
MCA's Tan Ah Eng is the incumbent Gelang Patah MP.
It was reported Sunday that the DAP advisor would contest in Johor to boost the party's chances in the general election.
Talk was rife that he would be looking at the prospects of contesting in Kulai, Gelang Patah or the Bakri parliamentary seat.
