KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor's biography was launched by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

In his speech, the former prime minister said he sympathised with the Prime Minister's wife for being unfairly targeted by certain quarters.

“I hope this book will explain everything about her,” he said here yesterday.

“I sympathise with her. I myself have written a memoir but the lies still continue.

“There are those who still will not accept the truth - even when they are confronted with it.”

Dr Mahathir advised all leaders and prominent figures to jot down their own experiences and observations so that the future generation would be informed of their achievements.

“At least their explanations will be recorded, and those who are looking for fairness must listen to both sides. This is the democratic way.”

At the function, businessman Datuk K.K. Eswaran and the Malacca state government gave RM30,000 each to buy copies of the book. The Sabah Government contributed RM50,000. Half of the sum will go towards the newly set-up Global Children's Welfare Fund.

The self-titled book, Rosmah Mansor, published by Yayasan Amanah Perdana Malaysia, retails at RM150 a copy.

It was written by journalist Noraini Abdul Razak and playwright Siti Rohayah Attan.
