Actress Sharifah Nadia charged with hurting ex-hubby

PETALING JAYA: Actress Sharifah Nadia Yusnita Abd Haniff (pic), 32, was charged in a Magistrate's Court here Wednesday with hurting her former husband in November last year.
She claimed trial to causing injury to Lob Mahadir Abdul Shukur, 40, by scratching his hand.
Sharifah Nadia was accused under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which carries a year's jail term or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both, if convicted.
Sharifah Nadia, who acted in Diari Romeo, was alleged to have committed the offence at Dewan Tan Sri Jefry Chin in SK Chee Wen, USJ 1, Subang Jaya at about 10.30am on Nov 25, last year.
Counsel Yusmadi Yusoff acted for Sharifah Nadia and Saphirra Selamat was the deputy public prosecutor.
Counsel M. K. Thas held a watching brief for Sharifah Nadia's ex-husband, who is a businessman.
Magistrate Mohd Hezri Shaharil later fixed Apr 22 for mention.
