GE13: BN seat allocation settled

PETALING JAYA: The seat distribution for the Barisan Nasional component parties has been finalised, according to a Media Umno online report.

The report, which quoted Barisan secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, said a consensus has been reached.

“In Barisan, there are 13 component parties and 13 presidents of various races, religions, ethnicity and culture but yet the distribution of seats for the upcoming general election proceeded smoothly in the spirit of togetherness and unity in diversity.

“Compare this with the opposition which has three parties, namely PKR, PAS and DAP and yet they are faced with many struggles despite denying that there are no problems. But the incidents in Sabah, Johor, Kedah and several other states prove otherwise.

“In Barisan, everything is solved through negotiations with importance given to all parties even if it is the smallest in the spirit of consensus. The involvement of all parties is taken into account,” he told the portal yesterday.

Pakatan Rakyat, Tengku Adnan said in the report, tried to imitate Barisan by forming a coalition but said it could not achieve the same results as the three parties had different ideologies.

“When it comes to seat distribution, Barisan always takes into account the people's interest and the future, and the crisis which is happening in the Opposition in relation to this is not something shocking,” he told the portal.
