Sex fiend Rambo Bentong to add 18 more to his 115 years' jail
Rabidin being escorted to Sessions Court (file picture) RAUB: Convicted sex fiend Rambo Bentong, already serving 115 years for rape and murder, was slapped with another 18 years for the attempted murder of a policeman.
Sessions Court judge Shahrizat Ismail ordered the additional jail term to start after Rabidin Satir, 42, has served the earlier lengthy term.
Rabidin, from Tambunan, Sabah, his head bowed low and in handcuffs, showed no emotion in the dock on hearing the judgement.
“Although the accused pleaded for leniency, the court is of the opinion a heavy punishment is necessary to serve as a lesson and deterrent to others,” the judge told Rabidin.
Rabidin committed the offence at house No 43, Taman Shahbandar Hussein, Bentong at about 6pm on Nov 14 last year.
On Feb 5, Rabidin was sentenced to 115 years in jail and 50 lashes of the cane after he pleaded guilty to four counts of rape and one for committing unnatural sex.
The accused also faces the mandatory death penalty for the rape and murder of a 17-year-old girl at Lot 4168, Kampung Ketari, Bentong, between 11.30pm on March 7, 2009 and 1.50pm on March 8, 2009.
This case has been transferred to the Temerloh High Court.
Rabidin earned the nickname for using a Rambo knife on his victims.
His reign of terror came to an end in November last year after three off-duty policemen spotted him using binoculars to stake out houses in Taman Shahbandar Hussein, Bentong.
In the ensuing struggle to apprehend him, Rabidin attacked one of the policemen with a Rambo knife, leaving him hospitalised with a stab wound and deep gash.
