Muhyidddin: Batu MP’s statement irresponsible
CAMERON HIGHLANDS: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyidddin Yassin has slammed Batu MP Tian Chua over his statement alleging the involvement of Barisan Nasional and Umno in the Lahad Datu standoff.
Muhyiddin said it was always part of Pakatan Rakyat's hate campaign against Barisan Nasional and Umno.
“It is easy for them (Pakatan) to make these irresponsible statements. We hope the people will understand what truly happened and that the (outcome of the standoff) was unexpected,” he said after attending a Himpunan Rakyat mass gathering here yesterday.
“We are all saddened by what happened and I would like to extend my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives,” he added.
He stressed that it was irresponsible of the Opposition to shoot off their mouths while the families of those killed were in mourning.
“This is a serious issue pertaining to our country's security.
“We cannot treat this lightly to gain political mileage,” he said.
