Situation in flood-hit Kelantan improves


KUALA LUMPUR: The situation in flood-hit Kelantan continues to improve while there was no change in Perak and Terengganu.

More people in Kelantan have returned to their homes, leaving 160 at the relief centre in Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengkalan Kubur 2, Tumpat, as at 9am on Sunday.

In Perak and Terengganu, 137 people are still at relief centres.

The flood portal of the National Security Council said the evacuees in Kelantan were from Kampung Simpangan, and they were expected to return to their homes this evening should the situation continue to improve.

The levels of all the rivers in Kelantan have dropped to their normal point, and the weather in the state is fine.

In Perak, 111 evacuees are still at two relief centres, 99 of them at the Sekolah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai in Manjung and 12 at the Padang Serai Dalam community hall in Larut Matang.

In Terengganu, 26 people are putting up at the relief centre at the surau of Kampung Nyatoh in Setiu. - Bernama
