EC to hold final briefing for political party leaders before polls

KUALA LUMPUR: The Election Commission (EC) will convene a meeting with all political party leaders, including the opposition, for a final briefing before the 13th general election is held.

Deputy chairman Datuk Wira Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the meeting would be held, among others, to brief the party leaders on the election process, including the voting process.

"Prior to this, we met and briefed them, including having question and answer sessions, at the Parliament building and in Putrajaya.

"We have also conducted several information sessions on laws pertaining to the general election, and simulation on the use of the indelible ink," he told Bernama.

Wan Ahmad reminded all quarters not to disrupt the voting process, like creating chaos, as action would be taken against them.

He said those found guilty of committing the offence faced a year's imprisonment or RM1,000 fine or both. - Bernama
