Opposition only trying to ruin country’s image, says state BN Youth chief
KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Opposition will only make Malaysia a mockery in the eyes of the world by continuing to criticise the nation’s legal system and security forces.
Sarawak Barisan Nasional Youth chief Datuk Fadillah Yusof said he was disgusted that the Opposition would stoop so low as to politicise the death of two Malaysian commandos who were killed in the Lahad Datu incident.
“This has been their politics from before till today. They are only interested in fault finding even if the Government did good. They will always be something to criticise. They even go to the extent of politicising the death of our policemen who sacrificed their lives for our safety.
“They are just ruining our country’s image through such allegations. They have sunk so low to even politicise this,” he told reporters when met at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Samarahan Campus IT Carnival 2013 here yesterday.
Fadillah said this when asked to comment on statements allegedly made by PKR vice-president Tian Chua that the shooting incident in Lahad Datu was a conspiracy by the Umno government to divert attention and frighten the people.
Tian Chua was said to have uttered these comments to Keadilan Daily, an official news portal for the party.
This sparked an outcry among several politicians and top brass police officers who felt that it was a careless remark done out of sheer ignorance.
Fadillah said people should not be too surprised by this because the Opposition had never recognised the country’s security forces and were constantly picking on the police.
He said they even did this to the legal system and if it was allowed to continue, in time people would not respect the legal system of Malaysia.
He lamented that the Opposition even went to the extent of telling the people to accept the BR1M and not be appreciative of the Government.
“They say it is after all the peoples’ money so they need not thank the Government for it. But what they don’t tell you is that part of it may be from taxes and the other part was funds acquired by the government through its various investments,” he added.
Thus, he urged the people not to hang on to the Opposition’s every word for it might not be what it looked like.
