KOTA KINABALU: The fourth session of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) scheduled March 5 to 9 has been postponed.

The next session for the RCI open court hearing to investigate the “granting” of citizenships to an estimated one million immigrants before Independence is expected to be held again on March 18.

The five-member RCI panel chaired by former chief judge for Sabah and Sarawak Tan Sri Steve Shim, comprises four commissioners -- former Universiti Malaysia Sabah vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kamaruzaman Ampon and former Sabah deputy chief minister and state attorney-general Tan Sri Herman Luping, former state secretary Datuk K.Y. Mustafa and Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation president Datuk Henry Chin.

The first open court hearing session was on Jan 14.
