Police cripple gang of car-jackers, burglars

PETALING JAYA: Police have detained six people in connection with a gang which specialised in stealing cars and house break-ins here.

Three stolen cars and break-in tools were seized from the suspects, aged between 23 and 37.

Two of the suspects were picked up on Feb 17 in Manjalara, Kepong, another in Selayang and the rest in Desa Jaya near here last Monday.

Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed said on Wednesday, the six were remanded until Sunday.

He said the three cars were reported stolen early last month in Sri Damansara, Selangor and in Kelana Jaya on Feb 13.

Arjunaidi said the stolen cars were meant to have been shipped to a neigbouring country and sold for between RM30,000 and RM40,000 each. - Bernama
