Signature campaign to show support for cops and armed forces
KUCHING: SUPP Central Women’s Section will be holding a signature campaign to show the people’s support for police and armed forces personnel who are now stationed in Sabah following the intrusion by Sulu gunmen.
The campaign will be held tomorrow from 11.30am to 5pm at Plaza Merdeka in conjunction with International Women’s Day.
The movement is appealing to the public to come and show their support for the members of the security forces taking part in Ops Daulat by signing on a large banner that will be put up for the purpose
Between 5pm and 6.30pm, the large banner used to collect the signatures will be displayed to the public in front of the Visitors Information Centre at the Old Courthouse here.
In another development, Piasau SUPP is setting up a fund for the families of the policemen killed during skirmishes with the gunmen.
Cash and cheques can be donated to Tabung Wira Lahad Datu through the contact person, Tong Shi Yee (013-830 7575).
Donations can also be handed to the Piasau office.
