Farida Ali appointed Health Ministry sec-gen
Farida receiving her letter of appointment from Ali in Putrajaya. KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Director-General of the Public Service Department (Development) Datuk Farida Mohd Ali has been appointed as the Health Ministry secretary-general effective March 15.
Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa said in a statement on Friday that Farida would succeed Datuk Kamarul Zaman Md Isa who is going on optional retirement after serving 35 years in the Government.
Farida, who has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Planning) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), started her career in the Administrative and Diplomatic Service on Dec 1, 1981.
She had served as assistant director in the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Department; principal assistant director (Sectoral) in the Economic Planning Unit, Pahang; senior assistant director of Budget in the Budget Management Division, Ministry of Finance; and director, organisational development division, Public Service Department.
"With her experience and deep knowledge, it is felt that Datuk Farida Mohd Ali would be able to lead the civil servants in the Health Ministry with integrity, efficiency, transparency and effectiveness for the sake of national excellence," said Dr Ali. - Bernama
