Company director faces 48 counts of CBT involving RM2.7mil

SHAH ALAM: A company director claimed trial to 48 counts of criminal breach of trust amounting to RM2.7mil.
Tung Soon Sam, 56, pleaded not guilty to all the charges before Sessions judge Aslam Zainuddin on Friday.
Tung is accused of committing offences involving funds belonging to Syarikat X-Communication Sdn Bhd, which were entrusted to her as the company director.
The offences allegedly took place at X-Communication's office, Jalan Batai Laut 4, Kawasan 16, Taman Intan in Klang between October 2005 and December 2009.
DPP Siti Syuhada Alwi offered bail at RM200,000 for all offences.
Tung's lawyer S. Ramesh told the court that the amount involved in the case was in respect of company cheques and not cash.
"My client and the complainant in the case were the only two directors in the company.
"The charges appear vague although it looks very serious considering the amount involved," he said.
Bail was set at RM150,000 with one surety and Tung was ordered to surrender her passport. The case is fixed for mention on April 8.
