LAHAD DATU: More than 50 people have been detained for suspected links with Sulu armed intruders in Sabah.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said they were detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012.

“The suspects were arrested outside the Op Daulat operations area.

“(From) interrogating the suspects (we) will be able to verify some information that we have obtained,” he told a press conference with Armed Forces chief Jeneral Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin in Lahad Datu Friday.

Jeneral Zulkifeli said he has not received any news from Wisma Putra, regarding the possible surrender of the Sulu gunmen.

“Since this morning, I have not received any news that the gunmen are surrendering.

“Thus, we will still go on with the operations as we believe the remaining gunmen are still located in a few places,” he said.
