Man claims trial to robbery


KUALA LUMPUR: A despatch rider pleaded not guilty in a Sessions Court here to robbing a supervisor of RM500 last month.

Mohd Indra Zakaria, 27, and another still at large, was charged with robbing supervisor Noor Khadijah Md Shah, 25, at Jalan Wangsa Perdana 1, Wangsa Maju here at about 8.15pm on Feb 20.

He was charged under Section 395 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum of 20 years’ jail and whipping if convicted.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Suzanne Tiyon Bimen offered bail at RM15,000.

In pleading for a lower amount, Mohd Indra said that he had two children aged four years and five months.

Sessions Court judge Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh set bail at RM12,000 pending mention on April 8.
