GE13: Ibrahim Ali takes leave as Perkasa president to defend Pasir Mas seat

KOTA BARU: Pasir Mas MP Datuk Ibrahim Ali said he would take leave from being Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) president to defend his Pasir Mas seat in the 13th General Election, effective Wednesday.

His deputy Datuk Abdul Rahman Bakar will act as president until the polls are over.

"Under which ticket I will be contesting will be known on nomination day or the day before. I do not want to speculate," Ibrahim said.

He added that it would be a honour for him to be chosen to contest under the Barisan Nasional banner, because he intends to continue serving the people of Pasir Mas.

Ibrahim contested under the PAS banner in the 12th General Election, defeating Barisan candidate Ahmad Rosdi Mahamad by a 8,991-vote majority. - Bernama
