MIRI: In a bid to make political inroads into the Land of the Hornbill, PAS will make party history in the coming 13th general election by fielding two Iban candidates.

The duo will contest the Sibuti and Julau parliamentary seats in Sarawak.

Former broadcast journalist, researcher and presenter for government-owned Al-Hijrah television station Mohd Zaid @ Robby Tandang will contest the Sibuti seat near Miri City.

Former government officer Dr Ambrose Labang Jamba will vie for the Julau seat.

Meanwhile, PAS deputy spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din denied rumours that he had left the party.

Haron said he remained committed to PAS' struggles and was disappointed by the spread of false information.

Haron, who will be contesting for the Arau parliamentary seat on a PAS ticket for the 13th general election, described the rumours as an attempt to weaken the party.

He said this during a ceramah at Kampung Long Boh, Tambun Tulang in Kangar on Friday night. - Bernama
