KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) chief Chua Yew Choong has lodged a complaint with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission against former DAP Teratai assemblyman Jenice Lee and her then special assistant Lee Hsuan Ba over misappropriation of funds.

Chua said he suspected that Lee and Hsuan Ba had abused their powers when she was the Teratai assemblyman over the construction of a retaining wall for three families in Taman Seraya, Ampang.

“They earlier challenged us to prove our claims,” he said. “We have supporting documents to show that Lee had condoned the construction of the wall, of which RM32,000 was collected from residents.”

Chua said he would submit invoices that would prove how the duo had misused state government funds through Hsuan Ba's company to supply promotional items involving RM22,000.

Lee was sacked from the party when she filed nomination papers to defend her state seat as an Independent on April 20.

Chua claimed that two companies established by Hsuan Ba and his brother had received “favours” as a result of Hsuan Ba's position as Lee's special assistant.

In response, Hsuan Ba said he would give his full cooperation to the MACC, adding that there was no evidence that he and Lee were involved in unethical behaviour.
