GE13: Rally behind Palanivel, MIC members told
PETALING JAYA: It's time for MIC leaders and members to rally behind president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel to improve the party's relevance to the younger generation and Indian community, said Federal Territories MIC information chief Anbumani Balan.
The members, he said, had to pull together to build MIC's strength following the election results, which he said “ensured the party's survival” despite losing two state seats.
“The GE13 results saved the party if compared to the results of MCA and Gerakan. I admit, the party is at a critical juncture but now is not the time to react emotionally,” he said in a statement.
Anbumani also praised Palanivel whom he felt should be given another term as MIC president.
