Anti-Lynas group to go into plan B


KUANTAN: Save Malaysia Stop Lynas will activate its Plan B to pressure the authorities to close down the plant in Gebeng.

The group’s chairman, Tan Bun Teet, said the plan would take effect in two months and he was optimistic of the outcome.

”We are going to kickstart a new strategic plan in Australia in our bid to close down the plant as our previous attempts have yet to achieve the desired results,” he said here yesterday.

Tan said the details would be revealed when the time was right.

Tan also said Kuantan and Indera Mahkota MPs Fuziah Salleh and Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman as well as assemblymen Andansura Rabu, Lee Chean Chung and Sim Chon Siang who are the Beserah, Semam­bu and Teruntum elected representatives respectively, have yet to contact the group to discuss a common action plan.”

“We have faith in them and believe they would not turn their backs on us,” he said.

Tan said the group would also launch a new campaign to garner more public support.
